Announcement: Woman Almost Set On Fire - Possible Hate Crime
Posted: Disenchanted Faerie @ Sat Sep 27, 2008 10:29 pm
Police are looking for a suspect after a woman says another woman poured a liquid on her and told her she was going to set her on fire.

"She came in the store and I came out from behind the counter and I greeted her she asked for bath salts."

That's how Crystal Basler Payne, owner of The Country Goddess, says her Saturday on September 13th started.  Payne says things went wron...

Announcement: lighting a candle, altar
Posted: tiggerboo @ Thu Sep 25, 2008 12:00 am
Why do you light candles? I've always thought it was nice, but I don't know why it's done.
You thought that question was stupid, wait 'till you read the next one...
What exactly are you doing with the altar?
No, I don't think anyone is doing human and animal sacrifices or anything like that. I just don't know what it's for.
I have never followed any religion, so I know nothing about alters in ...

Announcement: Marshall University Garners Attention Over Pagan Recognition
Posted: Disenchanted Faerie @ Sun Sep 07, 2008 1:35 pm
Paganism is a religious movement that consists of many different religions such as Wicca, the mystical traditions of Kabbalism, Native American shamanistic traditions and religions from the African Diaspora like Voodoo. Last year, Marshall recognized pagan holidays as a reason for excused absences, producing a great deal of interest.

"I conducted a search a few weeks after the articles hit...

Announcement: Psychic's Donation Not Accepted
Posted: Disenchanted Faerie @ Sun Sep 07, 2008 1:30 pm
Last year, when Alexandra Chauran sought to teach her students at the Kent Phoenix Academy about the benefits of composting, she turned to the King County Solid Waste Division for help. Chauran ended up using the agency's curriculum to help her students start a vegetable garden and donate the fruit—or in this case veggies—of their labors to a local food bank.

After that experience, Chauran says...

Announcement: looking for a specific spell
Posted: Silver_Blaze @ Sat Sep 06, 2008 3:08 pm
MM.

I was reading a spell about a year ago, to welcome a new pet into the family. I know that you took a nametag for an animal and cast the spell with that as the anchor, and took it with you when you went to pick out your pet.

I am going to get myself a new friend in October, and was wanting to cast this spell to help me select the best one. But I can't find it again to save my life! So i...

Announcement: Group Spreading Word About Civil Rights Of Witches
Posted: Disenchanted Faerie @ Thu Aug 14, 2008 11:11 am
Project Witches Protection has very little money, relies heavily on volunteers and promotes a message that often falls on deaf ears.

But the anti-defamation organization trucks on, stuffing hundreds of envelopes at Laurie Cabot's witch shop every month to send to authorities across the state. Inside the envelopes is literature designed to inform people about the civil rights of witches.

Form...

Announcement: Connecticut Was Hanging Witches Long Before Salem Did
Posted: Disenchanted Faerie @ Thu Aug 14, 2008 11:10 am
They called Elizabeth Goodman a witch.

In Colonial Connecticut, stories swirled about the old woman who lived with the New Haven Colony's then-deputy governor: Goodman muttered to herself. She accused others of witchery. She sinisterly knew about unseen figs tucked in one woman's pocket. Another woman complained that after Goodman tried buying her chickens, they died and when they cut open the ...
